Facts about residential solar installers, each with a source and a date. Unranked and in alphabetical order. A listing is not an endorsement.
These checks matter more than any list, including this one.
Check the licence number on your state's contractor licensing board site before you sign. Each state keeps its own register.
Ask whether a NABCEP-certified professional designs or supervises your install.
Open the register →Search the company name plus 'Chapter 7' or 'Chapter 11' (PACER or news). A workmanship warranty is only as good as the company behind it.
Volumes come from the Solar Power World 2026 residential list, which ranks contractors by kilowatts (DC) installed in 2025 in the residential market. The page does not say how the figures are verified, and Sunrun, the largest installer by Wood Mackenzie's market-share count, does not appear in its top 25. The two sources measure differently and are not combined.

Entries are in alphabetical order. We do not score, rate or recommend any installer.
Each line links to where we found it and shows the date. If we could not verify something, we leave it off.
Listing is free and cannot be bought. If we ever add referral links, they will be marked as such and will not change who is listed or in what order.
Being listed means a fact about the company was published by a source we trust. It says nothing about the quality of its work. Check licences, reviews and warranty terms yourself.
